Early Voting and New Vote By Mail Ballots Halted for 28th Ward Voters

The Illinois Appellate Court just entered an order requiring the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners to immediately restore the name of 28th Ward Candidate for Alderperson Shawn A. Walker to the ballot. Please see attached court order. All voting in the 28th Ward is suspended until further notice.

Chicago Wards and Precincts with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Assistance for Election Day on February 28th

Ahead of the February 28th Municipal Election, the Chicago Board of Elections released a list of wards and precincts that will receive Limited English Proficiency (LEP) assistance for Election Day. These precinct polling locations will have assigned bilingual poll workers and paper ballots in Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Tagalog, and Polish.

Early Voting is Now Open in All of Chicago's 50 Wards for the February 28th Municipal Election

Early Voting in all of Chicago’s 50 Wards started today, Monday, February 13, and will be open through Monday, February 27. These sites are open Weekdays from 9:00am to 6pm; Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm; and Sundays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All Early Voting locations will also be open as Vote Centers on Election Day, Tuesday, February 28, from 6:00am to 7:00pm. Any voter living in Chicago can vote at any of these sites, no matter where they live in the city. All Early Voting sites are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Chicago Board of Elections Releases New Accessibility Tiers for Polling Places Ahead of Election Day on Feb. 28th

Ahead of the February 28, 2023 Municipal Election, the Chicago Board of Elections released new accessibility tiers for all precinct polling places in Chicago. To minimize the confusion caused by prior vague designations for polling place accessibility, each polling place is now designated with one of four tiers to communicate all known data: High, Medium, Low to No, or Unknown/Survey Pending. Statement from the Chicago Board of Elections on 5th Ward Vote By Mail Ballots

The Chicago Board of Elections recently learned that incorrect Vote By Mail ballots were mailed to 5th Ward voters that list Adrienne Irmer as a candidate for Alderperson. Ms. Irmer was removed from the ballot on January 20, 2023 and is not qualified to have her name printed upon the ballot. We sincerely regret this error and apologize for this inconvenience to voters.

Proclamation of Final Results for the November 8, 2022 General Election in the City of Chicago

Today, the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners met to officially declare and proclaim the results of the November 8, 2022 General Election. The City of Chicago saw 714,798 ballots cast for a 46.39% citywide turnout for 1,540,821 registered voters.
