Candidate Filing Begins Nov. 19, 2018 for the 2019 Municipal Elections

Candidates will file nominating petitions and related paperwork with the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners at 69 W. Washington St., Lower Level, from Mon., Nov. 19 through Mon., Nov. 26. This is one of the first steps for candidates to begin to qualify for the ballots for the Feb. 26, 2019 Municipal Elections for Mayor, City Clerk and City Treasurer of Chicago and Alderman in each of the city's 50 wards.

Chicago Board of Election Commissioners Thanks Commissioner Jonathan Swain for His Years of Service

The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners thanks Commissioner Jonathan T. Swain for his over five years of service to the voters of Chicago. Commissioner Swain joined the Board in January 2016, and his replacement will be appointed by the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Chicago Board of Elections Welcomes New Commissioner June A. Brown

The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners welcomed their new Commissioner June A. Brown today, who was sworn in by the Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County on January 13, 2022. A long time voting rights advocate and practicing attorney, Commissioner Brown replaces the seat formerly occupied by Commissioner Jonathan Swain.
