Early Voting is Now Open in All of Chicago's 50 Wards

CHICAGO, IL - Early Voting in all of Chicago’s 50 Wards started today, Monday, June 13, and will be open through Monday, June 27. These sites are open Weekdays from 9:00am to 6pm; Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm; and Sundays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All Early Voting locations will also be open as Vote Centers on Election Day, Tuesday, June 28, from 6:00am to 7:00pm.

Currently, over 2,100 voters have Early Voted for the June 28th Primary Election.

“A voter may choose to vote at any Early Voting site that’s convenient for them, no matter where they live within Chicago. Whether it’s the site closest to your home, to work or any other personal preference a voter may have, it’s the voter’s choice,” said Marisel Hernandez, Chair, Chicago Board of Election Commissioners. “Simply come to one of the 50 plus locations and check in with Board staff, and you can vote on the spot.”

Voters can also apply to Vote By Mail and the deadline to apply is Thursday, June 23 at 5:00pm. All Vote By Mail ballots come with postage-paid Ballot Return Envelopes, or voters can choose to return their Vote By Mail ballot at any secure drop box at an Early Voting site, the Supersite at 191 N. Clark, or the Board Offices at 69 W. Washington.

Currently, there have been over 105,000 applications to Vote By Mail in Chicago, with over 9,800 Vote By Mail ballots already returned.

“Please also consider Voting by Mail. You never know what unexpected circumstances may arise closer to Election Day. And if you’re planning on a summer vacation in the coming weeks, choose to Vote By Mail. We have made it easy and convenient for any voter to request and return their ballot,” said Chair Marisel Hernandez.

Online voter registration has now closed in Illinois ahead of the June 28th Primary Election. Voters who still need to register to vote, as well as file a name or address change, can still do so at any Early Voting site ahead of and on Election Day, as well as at their precinct polling place on Election Day. Voters will need to bring two forms of ID, one of those which shows their current address.

Chicago voters can visit chicagoelections.gov to access all of their voter information on the Your Vote Information page. There, voters can verify their voter registration status ahead of the election, see and print their sample ballot, view the locations of the Early Voting sites, locate their precinct polling place for Election Day, and check on the status of their Vote By Mail application.
