Vote By Mail Applications Open for the April 4th Municipal Run-Off Election; Early Voting Begins Monday, March 20th at 9:00am

CHICAGO - Voters within the City of Chicago may now apply to Vote By Mail for the April 4th Municipal Run-Off Election. The application portal is now live here.

 

**Please note: unless a voter is already on the Permanent Vote By Mail Roster, they will not automatically receive a new Vote By Mail ballot for April 4th. The voter would need to re-apply to receive a Vote By Mail ballot for April 4th.**

 

Voters can request that their Vote By Mail ballot be sent out of the city and out of the state. Voters can apply and choose to receive a Vote By Mail ballot in English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Polish, Korean, and Tagalog.

 

When voters receive their Vote By Mail ballot, they may return it through standard US Mail and it must be postmarked on or before Election Day on April 4, 2023. Voters may also submit the Ballot Return Envelope in a secured drop box at any Chicago Early Voting location before and on Election Day.

 

March 6, 2023 - First day to apply to Vote By Mail online for the April 4th Municipal Run-Off Election. 

March 17, 2023 – Earliest expected* day for Vote By Mail ballots to be mailed to voters. *subject to change

March 30, 2023 – Last day for the Board to receive new Vote By Mail applications.

April 4, 2023 – Last day for postmark on the Ballot Return Envelope if returning by mail. If a voter decides not to return the Vote By Mail ballot, the voter may submit the Vote By Mail ballot to the judges at the precinct and polling place for that voter's home address, and then cast a ballot in person. If the Vote By Mail ballot was lost or did not arrive, the voter may sign an affidavit and cast a ballot in person, also at the precinct and polling place for that voter's home address.

April 18, 2023 – Last day that a mailed Vote By Mail ballot (postmarked or certified April 4 or earlier) may arrive at the Election Board to be included in the count.

 

Early Voting in all 50 Wards of Chicago and at our two Downtown Sites for the April 4th Municipal Run-Off Election will begin Monday, March 20 and run through April 4, 2023 (Election Day). All 50 Ward Early Voting sites and the Board Supersite (191 N. Clark) will be open as vote centers on Election Day. All locations are ADA-compliant and fully accessible to voters with disabilities.

Weekdays: 9:00a - 6:00pm 
Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm 
Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Election Day: 6:00am - 7:00pm (April 4)
